One of the top rising prospects in the 2027 football class is making the rounds on the recruiting trail this summer.

Carter Jones, a 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive tackle from Poquoson High School in Virginia, has a packed June visit schedule that includes stops at several powerhouse programs. Jones, who also plays guard and defensive line for Poquoson, is set to visit Clemson on June 4, Tennessee on June 8, Georgia on June 12, Alabama on June 14, and Florida for a two-day visit on June 20-21.

The visits come as the Poquoson standout’s recruiting profile continues to soar. Jones has picked up recent offers from Florida State, NC State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Indiana, Virginia, Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland, Mississippi State, Kentucky, and Georgia, among others.

Earlier this spring, Jones took unofficial visits to the likes of Virginia Tech, Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland, Duke, Tennessee, South Carolina, Clemson, North Carolina, Georgia, and West Virginia.

On the field, Jones has made a name for himself after an impressive sophomore campaign. He earned first-team All-Region and All-District honors on both the offensive and defensive lines, was named to the first and second All-State teams, and secured second-team All-Tidewater recognition as an offensive lineman. He also helped lead Poquoson to a regional championship.

Jones is currently listed as a four-star prospect on 247Sports ranked as the 215th best player in the class. He is also listed in the ESPN 300 as a 3-star prospect ranked 288th.
