Sumter OL Zy’Quaz Kelley Draws Early D-I Interest with Physical Playing Style

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 310 pounds, Zy’Quaz Kelley has made his presence felt on the offensive line for Sumter High School.

The Class of 2026 prospect is beginning to attract Division I interest after a strong junior season and impressive camp showings. So far, he’s received scholarship offers from Presbyterian College and The Citadel. Both of which came a month apart.

“Really it’s just getting my name out there and sending my film,” Kelley said. “I had a great junior season and I played well and got better, also showed out at camps and hopefully my play and my senior season leads to more offers.”

Kelley said he doesn’t have any unofficial visits scheduled yet, but he has a few schools in mind that he’d like to check out.

“I don’t have any unofficials planned, but I do wanna visit Howard University and also the other D-I schools in my area,” he said.

A physically dominant lineman, Kelley prides himself on finishing plays with force and consistency.

“I finish more than 80% of my blocks,” he said. “If I get my hands on you, most likely you will be on the ground at the last whistle. That’s what makes me different.”

While he’s still in the early stages of the recruiting process, Kelley plans to let his senior season play out before making any decisions.

“Right now I will be waiting till after my season to be doing any commitments or at least the end of the season,” he said.
